Plunkett Homes History

In 1903, Thomas Scott Plunkett established T.S Plunkett Builders. In the 110 years since, Plunkett Homes has designed and built many thousands of homes for Western Australians. Plunkett has also been working with developers since Thomas Plunkett founded the company in 1903.

Plunkett Homes has always been the forefront of the Building industry. Over the years, we've introduced concepts before anyone else. In 1964, the first gas appliances to be used in Display homes were implemented by Plunkett. In 1973, Plunkett opened WA's first Display home with a pergola - a prelude to the outdoor living that we all now enjoy so much. Plunkett also introduced the first zero lot line designs in 1978 and was the first WA builder to use steel roof frames in 1998.

Plunkett has been such an important part of Perth and regional Western Australia's building history. Plunkett played a major role in Perth's wartime defence building. We were also instrumental in opening and developing some of Perth's oldest and most well known suburbs such as North Perth, Claremont, Nedlands, Melville and Woodlands.

After 110 years, Plunkett is still an industry leader, with innovative, award winning designs, and staff that are committed to helping our customers achieve their lifestyle dreams. In 2006, Plunkett Homes became a member of the JWH Group Pty Ltd, and is an integral part of one of the largest home building groups in Australia.
